Settings Managing Taxonomies (Categories and Tags)

This article details how Admins and Managers may organize all objects with taxonomies -- categories and tags

Taxonomies Types

Instance owners, admins, and managers may organize the various objects in NPressive with taxonomies. There are two types of taxonomies available:

  • Categories: organize objects in a hierarchical parent-child structure.

  • Tags: mark objects with flat-hierarchy "tags" for easy segmentation

By default, tags will display with a "tag" icon. A different icon can be set.

You can visually distinguish tags as they have a tag icon by default

Managing Taxonomies

Admins may control the following aspects of any taxonomy:

  • Name: The label you want to display for the taxonomy.

  • Types : Select from category or tag; once selected, this may not be edited.

  • Applies to: Select the object type to apply the taxonomy; once selected, this may not be edited.

  • Description:

  • Icon: If you want to display an icon with the taxonomy, enter in the name value; if none is selected, no icon will display for categories while a tag icon will default for tag.

  • Color (default is grey): Select from a list of pre-defined colors based on status and/or urgency.

  • Size (default large): Select the size you want the taxonomy to appear.

  • Display As: Select from either pill or badge

A preview of the selected configuration will appear
